New Changes part one.

< A Week Later >

In the time frame if one week Captain Kingston and Lt Commander O'Neil had repaired the reactor and had begun repairs deck by deck to the structure that remained.

" Commander O'Neil I know you are busy but I need you to meet me at the reactor." Kingston hailed Jessica.

Jessica was with one of the engineering team on a lower deck below main engineering when Kingston asked her to meet him at the reactor. " On my way" she responded back while finishing up what she was doing and gave some instruction to the team. Moments later she arrived at the reactor where Captain Kingston was waiting. She greeted with a nod.

" O'Neal good we have an major issue. The old station was built into the modern M-69. Because of all the damage we won't be able to keep these repairs up. When I try to install the new repair program it drains from the station. We are going to have to disconnect the repairs and separate the inner hull from the station. Fortunately that is an option. We need to pull the old station out and just start from scratch." Kingston informed.

“This is a major issue. I hoped to save the old station and it’s not good when the repair program depletes the power reserves, I agree with you that we need to start from scratch, we are not able to save it.” noted in agreement with Kingston “Let’s get to it then. We could salvage the old station or at leased some of it to speed up the construction of the new station. What do think Captain?” Jessica said to the Kingston brainstorming her thought.

< Auxillary Command >

Power fluctuations began to plague the Auxiliary Command and Commodore Sureth looked to Lt Kah’lyn Chiara-Rivers for answers.

" What's going on? Lieutenant Covenant assist Lieutenant Kah’lyn in restoring power." Sureth ordered.

" Aye sir." Covenant replied.

“This isn’t looking good Commodore” Kah’lyn looked at the readouts. “We’ve got power bleed off from just about every system.”

" Call engineering get their take on this. The hail the McCool we may have to beam out of here. Covenant maintain life support." Sureth replied.

< Main Engineering >

Kingston was overwhelmed as this was not part of his plan. Scrapping the station was not on his agenda.

" Engineering to Auxillary Command. We are placing operations on battery power until further notice."

< Auxillary Command >

“Understood” Kah’lyn responded. There wasn’t much she could do about it so it was a case of doing what she could.

" It will all work out Lieutenant. At least I hope so." Nic Covenant added.

“You and me both Nic” Kah’lyn smiled as she looked across at Covenant.”

The station began to rattle and lights began to blink on and off. Followed then by a much uninticipated return to full power to all systems.

Nic Covenant then looked to Kah'lyn.
" They did it. Somehow they have disconnected us from the Base shell. We are operating from the old base.

[ This is Commodore Sureth calling from Kingston station. It would seem Enginnering was successful in releasing the old base from the shell. Lieutenant Kah’lyn are you and Lt Covenant all right over there?]

“We’re in one piece Sir” Kah’lyn smiled as she looked towards Nic. “We have full power to all systems.”

That station is very small by comparison but should be sufficient to run the auxiliary systems. Lt Kah’lyn I am giving you temporary command credentials with a rank increase to Lieutenant Commander.." Sureth replied.

Kah’lyn was surprised at that. “Thank you Commodore!”

[You may not want to later. You're job just got twice as hard. ] Sureth replied.

“Then I’ll take it as a challenge” Kah’lyn answered in response. “Croesus is always telling me to aim for the stars!”

[ You have the Station Commander.] Sureth replied. Ltjg Nic Covenant straightened up in his seat following that conversation.

Sureth then moved on to other business as he hailed Lieutenant Commander Wallace.

< Minutes After >

[ Sureth to Commander Wallace.

David rolled to one side in his bed aboard the Cascade "Wallace here Commodore."

[ I apologize for waking you Mr Wallace. The stations Auxiliary Command center has been freed from the debris field. It has a minimal ability as a station but is non the less active. For the moment the Cascade will be our security defense while the Peel is away. In the morning I will come aboard the Cascade and promote you to full Commander and CO of the Cascade.

"Thank you sir, should I see if we can get some additional assets to provide support?" David said his mind switching to duty mode.

[ In due time. First things first. I will be aboard at 0800. Sureth out.]

"Yes sir!" David closed the Comms channel, then hit the internal comm "Ops this is Wallace, prepare for the arrival of the Commodore and party, also I'll need a full system rundown level one."

A disembodied voice spoke "Aye sir, should we be ready for an inspection?"

David thought for a few seconds "Yes, including the special systems, I want the Commodore to see that this ship has teeth."
