Peel - Let's Do This

Location: S/M: A Living Nightmare
Timeline: Stardate: 79602.2

S/M: Synopsis: The Peel has been ordered to the Beta Quadrant, Titus Sector, to a planet called Alben to extract a deep cover Operative for Star Fleet Intelligence. The extraction is crucial which will provide Star Fleet Intelligence with vital information in order to shut down a weapons operation, once and for all, that could affect the entire Quadrant. The Crew must face a new reality when they hear and witness things that the mind couldn’t even imagine.

~Bridge~

The command team walked onto the raised platform with Captain O'Connell taking the center chair, Commander Vehn to his right, and Lieutenant Aloran to his left. It was time to get underway "Communications hail Flight Control" came the order....moments later O'Connell received a nod from the Lieutenant at Comms "Flight Control this is the Peel requesting permission for departure." "Peel permission granted, head out on vector six seven point four. Safe travels Captain ." "Thank you Flight" then looking towards Helm "Ensign Hanes you know the drill....get us to the outer markers."

"Aye Captain" Jack replied having already keyed in the vector "Proceeding at one half impulse Sir" as the ship began moving with a wide arc turning to the required vector. Minutes later "Captain we're approaching the outer markers Sir."

"Excellent Ensign, lay in a course for the Titus Sector, planet Alben....proceed at warp eight for now" O'Connell ordered settling back in his chair.

"Aye Sir, course laid in for the Titus Sector...planet Alben.... proceeding to warp eight now" Jack replied as the ship went to warp seamlessly.

Turning to Vehn in a low voice "Number One, that chair suits you" O'Connell commented with a grin.

“Thank you Sir” Shauna grinned as she looked at Jamie. “It feels quite comfortable, like it was made for me.”

"I'm sure your Symbiont Vehn would agree as well" Jamie answered as the command team sat talking for the next few hours.

~Intelligence~

Keying in her security code Yesrin stood allowing the doors to open before entering her department. Grabbing a water she sat at the bench, took a sip, then proceeded to contact Stoner; of course audio only, per intelligence's protocol. Finally "Stoner I was beginning to think you were avoiding me" Yesrin stated grinning to herself.

"Never.....long time no hear Viper" Stoner replied still being able to recognize the voice even though it was synthesized "What's up?"

"I need any current information you can give me about a planet in the Titus Sector....Alben" Yesrin explained.

After a few seconds of silence "Oh you mean the asshole of the universe?" as he paused again "Sorry for the language but that's one nasty place. I suppose that's where your next Op is" Stoner commented.

"I was there years ago for an Op and swore I'd never return" as she chose her next words very carefully so as not to give anything away "But the money is too good to pass up" Yesrin replied was she sensed Jen saying [Liar!].

"Sometimes the money just ain't worth risking your life for" then he paused "Let me put it to you this way.....the place hasn't gotten any better from what I've heard" as he paused again "Obviously I don't know your gender but if you're a male be careful the inhabitants don't take kindly for new guys horning in on their turf and if you're a female......then may the gods be with you because new meat is high on their list of conquests."

Thinking about what was just said "On this Op I'm taking some backup whose highly trained in hand to hand combat so I think we'll be fine" Yesrin replied with some certainty "And I figured things haven't gotten any better there but I wanted to check."

"Sadly it's still bad there" as he paused a moment "Do me a favor when you do return contact me so I know you're ok" Stoner suggested with some concern.

"Stoner you're not going soft on me are you" Yesrin inquired as she grinned.

"NO! of course not...but I wouldn't wish that place on my worst enemy" he answered.

"Sure I can do that considering all the intel you've provided me with over the years" Yesrin responded "I should be going....lot's of prep work to do. Viper out.

Sitting back in her chair she was thinking how she really didn't want to go back to that hellhole but orders are orders as Jen chimed in [With SanChez going along we should be fine...besides I'll have your backs like I always do]. Smiling "I know you will old friend" Yesrin thought then secured her computer "I guess we better go find Maria and have a chat with the Marines."

~Marine Country~

Lieutenants SanChez and Jen met up in Tactical/Security room then headed to speak with Captain Hunt and his Marines to go over the upcoming Op. Arriving some of the Marines noticed Jen and had their usual fun giving 'cat calls' aimed more at Yesrin than Maria ""Ok people feel free to zip it, Lieutenant Jen and I don't have time for your antics" Maria stated in a authoritative manner as Sarah just smiled at her.

As the two Officers approached the Captain's Office Yesrin asked in a low voice "Is it always like this when you walk into their domain " as she grinned thinking the situation was quite amusing.

"Mostly but they're just teasing and trying to intimidate whoever walks in.....they're harmless enough" Maria replied as they reached Hunt's Office. Knocking on the doorjamb Maria smiled "Captain do you have a few minutes.....there's something we need to discuss with you."

Looking up from his work John smiled then stood "Please Lieutenant come in and make yourself comfortable; I always have time for you" he replied with a smile.

Walking in "Captain Hunt this is Lieutenant Yesrin Jen our Infiltration Specialist.....we have something we need to discuss with you and your Squad" Maria explained.

"Lieutenant Jen so nice to meet you. Please have a seat" Hunt commented as the three sat.

"I'll let the Lieutenant fill you in on the details" SanChez stated since the OP was her specialty.

Jen began going over the specifics of the OP and explaining the role the Marines would be playing "So you see Captain how important this OP is and what's at stake. They must not know Star Fleet is involved in this in any way so I have the details of clothing that your Squad must wear" as she paused "Can your weapons be traced back to Star Fleet or the Marines."

Thinking for a moment "The clothing won't be a problem and to answer your question....no.....our weapons are devoid of any markings that could be traced back to the Fleet or the Marines.....that's standard SFMC protocol" John explained.

With a smile "That's good to know Captain; none of my equipment or Tech can be traced back to Star Fleet either" then Yesrin paused "Not to sugarcoat it but Alben is one wretched planet and is one of those cases of shoot first and ask questions later, if you get my drift."

"Understood Lieutenant Jen....my Marines have no problem using deadly force in a situation like this one. We'll be on standby and at the ready if you need us" John replied having a firm grasp of the situation.

"Thank you Captain. Lieutenant SanChez and I will be departing from the ship at zero zero hundred so have your Marines on standby at that time; hopefully everything will go according to plan and you won't be needed.....but just in case" Yesrin explained.

"I hope you're right but like you said....just in case.....we'll be ready" John reiterated with a determined look.

As Yesrin and Maria stood "Thank you for your time Captain Hunt" Maria commented "We should be going there's still some work to be done preparation wise."

Hunt stood as well "Anytime Lieutenants and I'll have things ready on my end" as he paused a moment "I'll go over everything with my people right now so we'll be good to go" John replied as he followed the two Officers out of his Office.

Leaving the area Maria heard John "Ok people fall in, we have work to do" as Hunt brought his Marines up to speed on their new mission.

Yesrin looked at Maria as they walked along "The Captain seems nice" then she paused "Although I think he has a thing for you Maria" as Yesrin gave a light chuckle.

"It would seem so but unfortunately I have a thing for one of his female Marines" Maria replied figuring it was common knowledge she liked the ladies over men.

"And that's what makes it so funny.....that is unless the Captain somehow grows a vagina" Yesrin sated with a hardy laugh.

Maria laughed as well "Ya like that's ever going to happen."
