Peel Moving Out

Mission: SHAKE DOWN IN A NEBULA
Location: S/M: A New Hope
Timeline: Stardate: 79783.3

S/M: Synopsis: The Peel has been ordered back to the Beta Quadrant. There’s a recently completed Deep Space Colony Habitat in the Mutara Sector situated near the Mutara Nebula. Takara, a small planet just outside the Alpha Quadrant, is dying. Their Government and Scientists have established a deep space colony naming it ‘New Hope Colony’ in an effort to preserve their race. Due to the urgency of the build the Colonial Governor realizes some of his Staff haven’t been trained as well as he had been led to believe. The Peel’s mission is to facilitate more training to help close the gap; as well as circumvent any potential problems.

~Bridge~

Now that everyone was aboard ship, it was time to get things going. Looking to Helm "Ensign Hanes get us underway" O'Connell ordered.

"As you wish Captain" Jack replied as he tapped his comm "M-69 this is the Peel requesting permission for departure."

"Permission granted heading vector three seven and have a safe trip" Flight Control replied.

"Understood Flight, thanks" as Jack made the adjustments "Captain heading out on vector three seven on half impulse" he commented seeing all the ships around the Base.

"Excellent Mr.Hanes....once we clear the outer markers proceed to warp eight" O'Connell ordered.

"Understood Captain" Hanes answered as he guided the ship. Minutes later "Reaching outer markers proceeding to warp eight Sir."

Tapping his comm "All Senior Officers please report to the Conference Room, O'Connell out." Turning to Lieutenant Mercer "You have the Conn" as Jamie rose from the center seat heading for the briefing.

~Conference Room~

O'Connell arrived and pulled his PaDD from his right thigh pocket setting it on the table waiting for the others to file in.

Shauna was first through the door followed closely by Sarissa as the two had made their way to the briefing together. “Good Morning Sir” Shauna smiled warmly as she walked over to her seat and sat down.

“Good Morning Captain” Sarissa smiled as she too took a seat. “I hope we’ve got an interesting assignment?”

With a smile "Good morning Commander, Lieutenant and yes this will be a very interesting assignment...one I think everyone will find enjoyable.

Moments later Yesrin walked in "Captain good morning. I've sent off your report to the Admiral this morning already" she replied noticing the other two Officers "Commander, Counselor good morning to you as well. Sir would you like me to take notes of the Briefing?"

"Thank you Chief and yes taking notes would be helpful" O'Connell replied.

A few minutes later Maria and Marcus came in "Captain, ladies good morning" SanChez commented before taking her usual seat.

"Captain and ladies morning" Marcus commented before finding a suitable seat.

Then Johan walked in and of course grabbed a seat beside Sarissa before addressing the room "Good morning everyone" Johan said before smiling at Sarissa.

One of the last ones to arrive was Lieutenant Stone " Good morning everyone" Heidi commented with a smile "Captain I assume you wanted me to attend this meeting?" before finding an empty seat.

"Absolutely" then Jamie paused noticing one more person was still missing "Please allow me to introduce our guest for this mission.....this is Lieutenant Heidi Stone the Head Nurse for M-69. Doctor Williams was gracious enough to let us borrow her" shifting his attention "Lieutenant Aloran being our ACMO I thought maybe you could use an extra pair of hands for this particular mission."

“The more the merrier Captain” Sarissa smiled warmly. “Welcome aboard Lieutenant Stone.”

Shauna gave Heidi a warm smile, it was nice to have a familiar face from the station onboard ship.

Lt jg Sayvek arrived and found a position just beside the new nurse.
" Welcome to the Peel. I am Sayvek. "

"Mr. Sayvek very nice to meet you and thank you for the welcoming" Stone replied with a smile.

"Good, everyone's here. For those of you who may to be aware we have a guest for this mission" nodding towards Heidi "Crew this is Lieutenant Heidi Stone; she's the Head Nurse for the Base and is here to help Lieutenant Aloran on this mission" the Captain explained with a smile. "Now down to business. We're being sent back to the Beat Quadrant, Mutara Sector in the Mutara Nebula. There is a deep space habitat named New Hope Colony. We are tasked with further training of some of the Crew in different areas." He went into further details on the mission bring everyone up to speed.

Most of you probably know already, but in case you're unaware, Ms. Yesrin Jen is now our new Command Yeoman with the rank of Chief Petty Officer, or CPO for short, and we'll be looking for a new Infiltration Specialist right after this mission has been completed. Also Ms. Jen will still be in contact with her sources whenever we need any kind of Intel" O'Connell explained. "That's all I have at the moment. Commander Vehn anything to add?"

Shauna offered a polite smile. “I think you’ve covered it for now Captain. Just to clarify do we have a listing of what training is needed in which areas? It seems odd that they have people lacking in necessary skills as it is.”

"Yes I do have a list and thank you Commander for reminding me. The following areas need our attention: Medical, Science, Security, and they requested we go over Engineering just to make sure they're up to speed. As a side note the habitat was built quickly and the Crew the same since their planet was dying; I'm sure speed was of the essence at the time. Does anyone have any questions?" O'Connell explained then turned his attention "CPO Jen check with your sources and see if you can dig up any intel that might be helpful."

"As you wish Captain, I'll get right on it" Yesrin replied eager to follow orders and prove her worth in this new position.

“We can get the Medical department up to speed Captain” Sarissa smiled. “Do we know if they need any supplies? We could spare a few crates from the cargo bay if they do, there’s plenty more back at the Starbase.”

"The Admiral didn't say anything about supplies but I'm sure Lieutenant Stone and yourself can check into that once you're working in their Medical Department'" O'Connell replied "If there aren't any other questions you are dismissed. Commander a word please."

Shauna nodded as she remained in her seat waiting for everyone to leave the room.

Once the room was empty Jamie walked over to Shauna "Need your opinion on something. Even though we are going to a civilian installation I'm a still a little hesitant on sending Sarissa and Heidi alone. I was thinking of sending Lieutenant Albo along with them; they can use the excuse as Johan being their lifting muscle. So what do you think?"

“I think that’s a good idea actually. I believe Johan and Sarissa are engaged? I know that shouldn’t factor into their duties, but I know he’d most likely worry if she went down there without an escort. I think it’s a safer option all round.”

"Glad we're on the same page. I tend to be uneasy when a member foo the Crew is off ship during a mission; that's just me" Jamie replied "Guess we better get bak to the Bridge."

"Walking back to Command "Lieutenant SanChez report" O'Connell ordered as Maria rose from the center seat.

"Nothing unusual to report Captain....maintaining our current heading at warp eight" Maria replied before returning to Tactical.

Taking the center seat "Ok, Helm take us into slipstream" the Captain ordered "How long before we reach our destination."

"Going to slipstream now Sir" Jack replied as he made a few calculations "About six hours at our present speed Captain."
