[Bridge]

Being parked at the edge of the Mutara Sector wasn't exactly how Jamie thought this escorting assignment would end. By now they should have delivered their package and be heading back to Star Base M-69. The Captain believed in diplomacy.....but why does it always take so long.

Finally the Communications Officer spoke up "Sir, all set on my end" came the good news.

Rising from his chair "Good work Lieutenant.....please hail the General for me." "Aye Captain" and moments later the General reappeared on the view screen.

"General after conferring with my Senior Staff, we have communicated with the being and it has something it wants to convey to you" Jamie explained fingers crossed this would work.

After a few moments of silence "Ok Captain, let's hear it" the General replied as Jamie nodded towards Comms.

"General....no hurt you.....must be here" the being stated in his usual manner.

"I'm not sure I follow, what exactly is it trying to say" a rather confused General inquired.

"It speaks in short phrases and only what it needs to say in order to convey its thoughts" O'Connell explained "Allow me to translate. It's letting you know it will not hurt this Sector and it must be here. Whatever force is compelling it to want to be here is strong....even primeval if you will."

The General just stood there for several seconds before answering; then letting out a long sigh "Captain O'Connell let me confer with my Government and I'll get back to you shortly."

"Fair enough General, I'll wait for your reply. O'Connell out" as the Comms officer terminated the transmission.

For the first time since arriving the Captain actually had a glimmer of hope that this would end on a positive note. Returning to his seat he commented not really towards anyone in particular "So now we wait once again."

After a few moments Jamie turned towards Sarissa in a low voice "Counselor how are you coping after those visions you had; I've been a little concerned to say the least" he inquired with sincerity.

“I’m alright now Captain, it seems to be sparing me the visions now we’ve opened a verbal dialogue. I’m still sensing it, but fortunately nothing else.” Sarissa offered a smile. “To be honest I’m not sure I could have managed more visions, the sheer strength of the communication was painful to say the least.”

"I can't even to begin to imagine what that must have been like for you; unfortunately at the time our options were limited trying to get a handle on this phenomenon" Jamie replied feeling a little responsible for her plight.

The Gola stayed still as much as an enormous being of its nature could but Sayvek noticed an large amount of energy building up inside it.

" Captain sensor readings are detecting a gradual build up of energy from the Gola. "

Sarissa looked towards the screen. "If this is somewhere the Gola felt drawn to be, there could be two possibilities. Either it's here to die, or it could be here to give birth." she gave Jamie a concerned look.

Then Angel added to the conversation "Or it could be getting ready to slip back in time in case the General has not so good news; back before the Genesis device was set off that way it could theoretically enter the Mutura Nebula" she explained "Could that not be a possibility Mr. Sayvek?"

" Not knowing it's motives this is speculation. We do know these beings are spawned in the heart of a sun. It could have returned to spawn in the Mutara sun and now that will not be possible. That is my assessment. " Sayvek replied.

Hearing all sides of the conversation, O'Connell felt the need to confer with his Number One in private "These are all distinct possibilities and thanks to all of you for your input" he stated with gratefulness before giving his next orders "Counselor you have the Conn; call me if the General contacts us."

"Aye Sir" Sarisssa nodded.

"Commander you're with me" as Jamie rose from his seat and exited the Bridge with Angel following.

[Ready Room]

After they walked inside Jamie closed the door and went to the replicator as he turned to the Commander "I'm going to grab a water, would you like one Angel."

"Yes, thank you Jamie " she replied as was their usual way of addressing one another in private.

Handing her a water he sat, took a sip of his own then leaned back in his chair "This is turned into quite the situation and I'm not sure I know what the bloody hell to do" Jamie admitted to his Number One only, not wanting to look weak or indecisive in front of the Crew "I think we're out gunned here."

After sipping her water "Are you concerned about the General's Ship becoming a problem" she inquired with some concern over their current situation.

"No....not at all....the Peel is fast enough and we have enough fire power so that's not an issue" he stated then continued "My concern is over the Gola....not knowing what it's intentions are; you heard Sayvek....the thing is increasing it's internal power."

The Commander let out a slight sigh "I agree this is could turn out to be an impossible situation. So what do you plan on doing; all things not being equal" she inquired curious on what her Captain was going to do.

Jamie gave a smirk "I've already done it" he stated "Before we arrived I had some concerns how things might turn out. That being said I contacted Captain Taavis and requested some backup; I won't endanger this Ship or its Crew over this. Taavis agreed so the Nazgul is in route as we speak, since Captain Bjorgo initially had contact with this being."

Angel smiled "That was probably the best decision you could have made given the situation" as she could feel a sense of relief not only for herself but also for her Captain.

"Those were my thoughts exactly. You know what they say.....two Captains are better than one" he replied with a chuckle as they both stood and made their way back to command.

[Bridge]

Walking back to the Conn, and taking their seats "Counselor report" O'Connell stated seeing things were as he left them.

Sarissa looked to Jamie. "No change Captain, nothing from the General yet I'm not sure whether that's good or bad."

Several Minutes later Communications turned in her seat towards command "Captain the General is hailing us Sir."
