[Bridge]

At about zero nine hundred the alpha shift were manning the Bridge when Captain O'Connell noticed the time. "Comms open a channel to Ensign Samantha Berot please" Jamie ordered. Moments later "All set Captain" came the reply.

"Ensign Barot, ready for your test flight" Jamie inquired anxious to see how she handled the new Type 9.

"Yes Captain, I just finished my preflight checks and I'm good to go on your command Sir" Sam replied eager to see what she's got.

"Whenever you're ready Ensign you may proceed and we'll keep comms open during you flight" O'Connell commented.

"All set Sir" then Sam started "Shuttle Bay Chief this is Shuttle Pegasus requesting permission to depart for a test flight" using a professional tone she always used when flying a craft. "All clear, you have permission to depart Shuttle Pegasus. Have a good test flight" the Chief replied.

"Initiating thrusters....off the deck.....exiting Bay screen" she called out as she entered space. Now she would put the Shuttle through its paces. "Going to full impulse now" as she banked the Shuttle noticing how well it responded "Starting at warp one.....warp 2.....warp 3....warp 4.....warp 5.....warp 6....warp 7.....warp 8.....cruising speed achieved. Captain this thing handles like a dream and boy is she fast."

The entire Bridge could hear the Ensign and were very interested in her flight. "That's good to hear Ensign, any concerns thus far" Jamie inquired pleased to hear the news.

"So far so good Captain" then after several minutes "I've dropped out of warp; there's a meteor cluster up ahead.....permission to try out the weapons" Sam explained wanting to see just how good the weapons were before she ever needed them.

"Permission granted and happy hunting" Jamie replied with a grin.

"Bringing weapons online now" Sam relayed and after several more minutes "Cluster dead ahead....locking on target.....full phaser spread" then a very excited Ensign declared "Direct hit. Now that's what I'm talking about."

Angel leaned over towards Jamie "I guess the phasers work well" she stated with a chuckle as Jamie just grinned and nodded.

After about another twenty minutes of trying out various maneuvers Sam was satisfied with the Shuttle and what it could do "Captain O'Connell, I'm heading back to the Peel now Sir" Sam informed the Captain.

"Excellent. Sounds like a successful test flight then" Jamie commented being a little more at ease now that the flight would soon be concluded.

"Very successful Sir; this Shuttle exceeded all my expectations. I'll send you a detailed report of the flight if you wish" a very pleased Ensign stated.

"That would be greatly appreciated and I look forward to reading your report. O'Connell out" as Comms closed the channel.

Shortly Sam landed the Pegasus on the deck in Shuttle bay 2 and shut everything down. Leaning back in her seat Sam grinned as they patted the dashboard "You and I are going to get along just fine Pegasus" she commented with a whisper then exited the craft and securing it.

A short time later Comms called out "Captain the Admiral is on the line for you."

"I'll take it in my ready room" turning "Commander you have the conn" as Jamie left the Bridge. Twenty minutes later he returned and sat looking towards his Number One "We have our next mission; we may as well have a Senior Staff meeting now and bring everyone up to speed at the same time. Opening a ship wide "Attention Crew would all Senior Offices please assemble in the Conference Room in ten minutes. Thank you."

Since most of the Senior Staff was already on the Bridge, they're replacements filed in and took over their duties as everyone started leaving for the meeting.

[Conference Room]

As everyone came in one by one Jamie spoke up "Please find a seat and we'll start as soon as everyone's here; this won't take long."

Taking a seat towards the head end of the table Sarissa waited to see what the news was.

Commander Devroe was the next to enter, after making sure that the Bridge was all set even though they were parked above the Station at the moment, and sat next to Sarissa when she noticed the ring. With a grin "Counselor that's quite the rock you have on your finger, does that mean what I think it means" Angel inquired hoping for some good news.

Sarissa grinned as she looked at the engagement ring on her finger. “It does indeed, we got engaged last night!” Her eyes were drawn to the door.

Lieutenant Albo entered and gave everyone a general nod as he sat on the other side of Sarissa and gently bumped his knee against her's under the table so as not to be seen with a smile.

"Congratulations Sarissa, I'm very happy for you and your husband to be" Angel replied with a smile "I hope you both have a long and rewarding life together."

Lieutenant SanChez walked into the room "Good morning" she stated then sat on the opposite side of the table across from the Commander placing her padd on the table.

Hearing the call Lieutenant Yesrin Jen hustled to the meeting room not wanting to be late for her first Senior Staff meeting as she sensed Jen "Easy girl, you have time; don't hurt yourself" minutes later she entered the room "Good morning everyone" then she looked around and sat next to Maria in the empty chair giving Maria a nod.

Sayvek entered and took the first empty seat and waited to take any notes necessary.

Looking around the room the Captain saw everyone was present as he began "Everybody's here so we'll get started. A short time ago I finished a comms call with Admiral Stone detailing our next Mission and wanted to bring everyone up to speed" Jamie stated then continued "We’re being sent to the Cabral Sector to a planet called Boroth. There is a Research Facility that Star Fleet Intelligence thinks might be doing research on some kind of advanced weaponry" then looking towards Yesrin "Lieutenant it's imperative that you gather as much intel as possible without them knowing Star Fleet’s involved; I can’t stress this enough.There have been rumors a splinter faction from the Essary may be connected to the research some how. Also there is a Moon that orbits Boroth we can hide the Peel behind and remain undetectable from any prying eyes. Once behind the Moon, Ensign Barot will pilot the Diplomatic Type 9 Shuttle and transport Ms. Jen to Boroth's surface where the Ensign will remain until the Intel is gathered and the Lieutenant is safely back aboard. I know I've thrown a lot at you so any questions?"

“Are we just supposed to drop Ms Jen off and leave her there?” Sarissa looked at Jamie curiously. “And do we know what kind of advanced weaponry this might be?”

Sayvek was reluctant to ask any questions but his intuitive side availed.
" Are we aware of any vessels in the vicinity?"

"To answer your questions Counselor; that would be a no and no. The Diplomatic Shuttle will remain on the surface until the Lieutenant collects all the intel she can; so she won't be alone down there. The Infiltration hopefully will give Star Fleet the required intel to make an intelligent assessment of the situation." Jamie explained before continuing "Mr. Sayvek the only vessels that should be in the area would be local traffic. Since we'll be hidden behind a Moon you and Ms.SanChez will of course be monitoring the area until we leave. Are there any other questions or concerns at this time."

Yesrin spoke up "Not a question Captain but more of a statement" Jamie gave her a nod to proceed "Thank you for your concern for my well being during the upcoming Op. Please understand that I've gone through extensive training for covert Ops like this one and will be using the latest in infiltration technology to help ensure I get in and out safely and undetected" she concluded hoping that would put everyone's mind at ease.

Maria had something on her mind and had to come out with it "Captain, Lieutenant Jen if I may interject something here" then looking at Yesrin "I have no doubt that you have been expertly trained in all aspects of Infiltration but from working in security over the years I do know that sometimes things do tend to go south in a major way. My suggestion is to have a four person Marine Squad on standby; I think we should be safe than sorry" she concluded with some concern.

"Lieutenant SanChez your line of thinking is both reasonable and anticipated; thank you. I have detailed descriptions of the local Militia Military's uniforms on Boroth. Since we must remain covert, my suggestion would be for your Marines to dress in that attire and I can supply them with weapons as well that cannot be traced back to Star Fleet" Yesrin stated pleased to be having some sort of backup none the less.

"After we're done here, I'll get the uniform information from you. Rest assured I'll take care of things on my end" Maria stated with a smile. Yesrin gave her a nod and returned the smile.

"OK, one last thing. Lieutenant Albo since we still have Lieutenant Sayvek aboard, I would like you to concentrate on Operations for the duration of the Mission in case things should get dicey. Mr. Sayvek you'll be stationed at Science and should you need backup Commander Devroe can assist" the Captain ordered "Commander anything you'd like to add."

"I would just like to say how pleased I am seeing all of you willing to work together for this upcoming Mission. This is what makes a great Ship and an awesome Crew" Angel stated with sincerity in her voice.

"I'll second that" Jamie commented "If there are no other questions then you're all dismissed."

Sarissa nodded and stood up, waiting for Johan to walk out with her.

Angel stood as she commented "If everyone would remain for a few moments I have an announcement to make." The Captain had no idea what this was all about but trusted his First Officer. "Since this Crew is quickly becoming a family of sorts, I'd like to announce that Lieutenants Aloran and Albo are engaged to be married. When you have the opportunity please wish them all the best; now you are dismissed.

Johan smiled as he took Sarissa by the hand and squeezed gently before letting go; the cat was out of the proverbial bag.

Jamie immediately walked over to the couple "Congrats you two your engagement. If either of you need anything please do not hesitate to ask" as a smile came across the Captain's face.

"Thank you Captain that's very nice of you to offer. When we figure things out we'll let you know" Johan replied feeling pretty good at the moment.

Sarissa smiled warmly. “Thank you Captain, we’ll definitely let you know if there’s anything we need.”
