Turning to his Number One "Commander assemble your Crew in the Briefing Room in fifteen minutes" then to Lieutenant Aloran "Counselor I want you included as well" then tapping his Comm "Lieutenant Flannery please report to the Briefing Room in fifteen minutes" Turning to Tactical "Lieutenant SanChez you have the Conn" were the Captains array of orders receiving 'Ayes' from each Officer.

[Deck 1]

Captain O'Connell waited in the Briefing Room for everyone to arrive as they filed in one by one. Looking around the Room O'Connell realized everyone was present as he began "Thank you all for being so punctual" he stated as he brought up the Science scans on the large monitor on the far wall "These are the scans Lieutenant Sayvek performed of Altos IV. They have a Shielding generator that is so supposed to protect the Planet; unfortunately it's malfunctioning and has prevented anyone going in or out of their air space and on top of that it's acting as a magnifier which is increasing the temperatures on Altos IV" he explained then continued "Lieutenant Flannery since we can't beam through the shields we need to disrupt them somehow" the he paused "Could we use the main deflector dish sending a beam through the shield to disrupt it long enough for Genesis Shuttle to safely go through it and land on the surface."

Looking at the Science data Marcus grabbed his PaDD from this right thigh pocket then keyed in some information. Looking to O'Connell "Captain I can send a tachyon beam through the main deflector dish at the same frequency as the shielding; that should make it passable for the Genesis" Flannery replied with certainty.

"Excellent and I want you to grab another Engineer; both of you will make the necessary repairs to the generator. I want Lieutenant D'Nall to stay aboard and cover Engineering in your absence" O'Connell ordered then turned his attention to the Genesis C.O. "Commander you and your Crew will then proceed to the surface near the Generator so Engineering can effect repairs."

Devroe had just finished talking with Barot before she replied "Captain the Ensign can use the same frequency to adjust the shield harmonics to give us a little added protection as we breach the shields" the Commander explained.

"Excellent. I want everyone back in one piece" then turning to Sarissa "Lieutenant Aloran gather whatever medical supplies you think you may need in case they're running short. You'll have to wait until the generator is either taken down or repaired since the Medical Complex is unapproachable at the present time." Turning to Johan "Lieutenant Albo you will accompany the Counselor to the Medical Complex in case she needs an extra hand" O'Connell concluded.

Sarissa nodded. “Aye, Sir” She gave Johan a smile as she looked in his direction.

"Any questions?" as he scanned the room "Ok then; time is of the essence so the sooner we can get things together the sooner we can give these folks a hand. "Commander Devroe I want you to stay in frequent contact with the Peel and let me know if there's anything additional you may require to get the job done."

"As you wish Captain" Devroe replied eager to get started.

"Like I said, I want all of you to return safely; you're dismissed" O'Connell ordered as everyone stood and to leave the room.

Sayvek paused to add something.
" The shield system appears to only go down a few meters into the ground. It may be possible to dig a tunnel under the camp sir. "

"Thank you Mr. Sayvek; that information may be most helpful" the Captain replied then turning "Mr Flannery did you catch that."

"Yes Captain" Marcus answered "Thank you Lieutenant that info just may come in handy."


Walking back onto the Bridge "Lieutenant SanChez report" O'Connell ordered as he approached the Conn.

Rising from the big chair and facing her Captain "We're in synchronous orbit over the planet and are at stationkeeping Sir" Maria reported then started to return to Tactical.

"Hold up Ms. SanChez a moment" as she stopped and turned "Commander Devroe is getting the Genesis and her Crew ready to leave for the surface soon. In her absence I would like you to be my acting First Officer; the experience will help your career" he ordered with a smile as he sat at Command.

Returning the smile "As you wish Captain" then sat in the First Officer's seat rather proud of herself and her abilities but also a little nervous at the same time; those were some big shoes to fill metaphorically speaking.

"Communications, hail Mr. Prell on the planet" came the order as the Captain stood and walked up behind Helm. Moments later "Colonial Governor we are getting things into place and should be in your vicinity within the next two hours. My First Officer will make contact with you when they arrive in the Genesis Shuttle."

[ Captain we will owe you a great deal of gratitude. Our casualties are building up. 3 confirmed dead from the heat. ] Governor Prell replied.

"Understood Mr. Prell. Hang tight we'll be to you very soon; I'll instruct my Chief Engineer to take down the Shield first thing, that should release the heat build up from your planet" O'Connell commented with some concern over their situation.

[ I hope so Captain. If there is a Hell it must be as hot as our city.] Governor Prell replied.

After the conversation O'Connell tapped his Comm "Mr. Flannery the heat buildup on the planet is getting critical, when you arrive take down the Shields so the heat can be released into their atmosphere. Is everything ready so we can get started."

"Understood Captain and yes everything is ready for the deflector dish. Lieutenant D'Nall will oversee things here while I get to the Shuttle" Marcus explained almost ready to leave Engineering.

"Excellent work so proceed to the Shuttle and I'll let the Commander know you're on your way" the Captain stated then tapping his Comm "Commander Devroe are you about ready to depart? Things are getting critical on the surface and Lieutenant Flannery should be to you momentarily."

[Deck 5 Shuttle Bay #2]

"Yes we're set just waiting on Engineering and Medical to arrive. I'll let you know when we're ready to depart Captain" Devroe replied. Just then Marcus flew onto the Shuttle and up to the Bridge "Lieutenant Flannery reporting for duty Commander."

Lieutenant Albo was at the back of the Shuttle waiting for Sarissa to arrive looking out the back hatch. Looking up he saw her carrying a rather large bag then rushed over to help her "Here sweetheart let me help you with that" he whispered as he grabbed the bag "Looks like we get to hang out together for awhile and get paid for it as well."

“Sounds perfect to me!” Sarissa smiled warmly as she let Johan take the bag. “There’s also a small crate of supplies outside the shuttle door on the antigrav sled, I like to go well supplied.”

Johan grinned "Yes you do and that's what I love about you; prepared for anything" he stated in a low voice "Let's get the bag stowed aboard then I'll grab the crate."

After Sarissa boarded, Johan directed her to sit in the living area with Marcus then walking back to his Station "Commander the Counselor just boarded and is back with Lieutenant Flannery" Johan informed Angel.

Turning in her seat "Great Lieutenant; we'll be departing soon. Turning to the rest of her Crew "Ok everyone ready to get started and help these folks" as everyone nodded yes. " Comms patch me through to the Shuttle Bay Chief" as she received a thumbs up "Chief this is Shuttle Genesis requesting permission to depart."

"Permission granted and good luck Commander."

Tapping her Comm "Captain we're ready to depart the Peel" Angel stated.

[Excellent Commander safe travels and keep me apprised of the situation down there] O'Connell ordered.

"Will do Captain" before looking to Sam "Ensign Barot it's all yours. Get us there and back safely" Devroe ordered with a smile.

"As you wish Commander.....lifting off the Deck now....entering space" Barot informed command.

"I'll defer the speed to you Ensign since things may get a bit tricky on entry to the planet's atmosphere" Devroe ordered.

"Understood Commander."

[Deck 1]

Tapping his Comm "Lieutenant D'Nall is the beam ready to be initiated yet" O'Connell queried since the Genesis was due to depart soon.

"D'Nall, yes the beam is at your disposal Sir" he replied.

"Excellent Mr. D'Nall" then looking towards Science "Lieutenant Sayvek send the coordinates to Helm for the best possible angle for the dish to project the beam. Tactical get ready to initiate the beam on my command" were the Captain's orders.

" Sending the coordinates to Helm. Captain the internal temperature is increasing." Sayvek replied.

"Aye Captain" Tactical replied his hands at the ready to initiate the order.

"Noted Lieutenant" the Captain replied "Tactical initiate the deflector dish beam." "Comms open a channel to Genesis "Commander Devroe we're all set on our end and the surface's temperatures are increasing as we speak."

"Understood Captain, we're making our approach now" Devroe informed Command.

"Good luck Commander, O'Connell out.

Looking towards Maria "Now we wait" Jamie commented being a little anxious about the situation in general.

"It would appear so" Maria replied with a grin rather enjoying her new responsibility even if it was just temporary.
