Peel - Getting Ready

~Bridge~

-Hours Later-

Captain O'Connell entered the area about zero zero hundred as he walked up to the conn "Lieutenant Mercer, good morning please report."

Rising from the center seat "Good morning Sir. We've entered the Titus sector and should be at Alben in one hour.....I took the liberty of dropping out of slipstream a few minutes ago so we just don't blow by the planet" Mercer explained "I understand this mission will be a bit of a tricky one."

"Excellent Lieutenant on all counts and yes this one will be a tricky one as you put it" O'Connell replied with a grin "I'll take it from here Mr. Mercer...you're dismissed."

"Thank you Captain and I hope this goes smoothly for the ship and crew" he stated then turned and entered the Lift to return to his quarters. Looking around the Captain saw the Alpha Shift filing in one by one then conferring with their counterparts a few minutes before the Beta Shift started exiting the area.

Moments later Commander Vehn and Lieutenant Aloran exited the lift then grabbed their seats at Command. Looking to both Shauna and Sarissa "Good morning ladies, well barely morning, hope you're were able to get some rest; I have a feeling this could be a long day ahead" O'Connell stated.

Shauna offered a warm smile. “So so Captain, I was awake for a bit last night running everything through my head. I did get to sleep eventually though I’m glad to say.”

Sarissa smiled. “I must be lucky, I had quite a good night. What about you Captain?”

"Not great but enough to get me through this; I've worked on less sleep but of course I was a lot younger back then" Jamie replied with a light chuckle. Then focusing his attention elsewhere "Lieutenant Sayvek start your long range scans when you can."

" Beginning scans now Captain." Sayvek replied.

"Excellent Lieutenant, keep me apprised" O'Connell stated "Helm start slowing us down gradually and put us in a high orbit over Alben."

"Aye Captain slowing down now.... placing us in a high orbit position" Jack replied as he watched his screens.

Tapping his comm "Lieutenant Flannery we're almost in position so start faking some warp core problems" came the order.

"On it Captain. One sick warp core coming right up" Marcus answered as he set to work.

"Lieutenant Jen you and your cohort almost ready" O'Connell inquired with some concern about the mission.

Hearing her comm badge go off "Almost Captain; we'll be ready to depart in ten, Jen out.

Shauna was keeping a close eye on things, if she hated anything it was unwelcome surprises.

~Intelligence~

Yesrin and Maria were getting a few last minute things together as she turned to Maria " You look well prepare for this Op and I'm very grateful you're coming with me on this" then Yesrin paused "Do you have an edged weapon on you in case things go sideways down there" she inquired.

"Thanks and from how you've described that place I'm more than happy to tag along. And yes I have an old K-bar type knife I carry in my right boot for, how shall I put this, close encounters" Maria replied with a grin.

Thinking for a moment while she reached into her stash of weapons. Turning "Here take this....it's a long knife that Jen instructed me in building but be careful it's razor sharp....just a little something extra" as she handed Maria the sheathed knife.

Looking at the weapon "Dang, you're just full of surprises" as she looked at the blade before sliding it back in it's sheath then attaching it to her left belt for easy access "I really like the way you think" Maria stated with a grin.

Scanning the area "I think we're all set then.....you ready to get this party started" Yesrin commented feeling more confident having Maria along on this one as she sensed Jen [Let's go kick some ass and get our package secured] which brought a smile to Yesrin's face before tapping her comm "Captain we're heading to Transporter Room One now sir."

"Understood, good luck and be safe.....we'll do our part on this end" the Captain replied.

"Yup, let's do this" Maria replied with a grin of her own.

~Transporter Room One~

Entering the two officers walked onto the transporter pads then turned as Yesrin was trying to shake off the pre-OP jitters, which was customary for her to do, when she sensed Jen [Relax Yesrin...we can do this....I have both your backs.] "I know you do old friend" she thought before saying "Energize" as the the Team disappeared.

The Operator immediately tapped his comm "Captain, Transporter Room One, the team just beamed off the ship Sir" the Lieutenant informed command.

~Bridge~

"Understood. Keep a lock on those two at all times, O'Connell out" Scanning the Bridge "Ok people the Infiltration Team is away.....let's do our jobs and get them back here safely along with their package" he ordered knowing the next few hours would be a tense situation for everyone.

Tapping his comm "Captain Hunt, the Team has departed from the ship...please be ready for deployment at a moments notice" came the order.

"We're ready and waiting Captain O'Connell" Hunt replied before turning to his Marines "They've departed so now we wait."

Looking over to his Number One "Here we go."

Shauna nodded. “Let’s hope this goes to plan, I don’t like any unwelcome surprises.”
